Hi Andrea.

Oh dear, snorting sweet peas and <a href="http://www.heavypetal.ca/archives/2008/06/illegal_activity_start_em_youn.html" rel="nofollow">throwing seed bombs</a>. On what kind of path is gardening taking us?

Hi Elaine, I just checked out your other blog - you're prolific!

Sweet peas are definitely sweeet. There is just something about their perfume that makes you want to snort them up like a drug. My favourite thing about them has to be the fact that the more you cut them, the better they bloom. Continuous bouquets throughout the season - yay!

Thanks, Tabatha. I don't have nearly as many flowers as you do in your garden so I try to really make the most of what blooms in mine. This means lots of photos...and probably more than a couple of posts about sweet peas.

Peppylady, Heather & Aiyana, good Monday morning and thank you for your comments.

I had no expectations but high hopes that the sweet peas would flourish and I'm thrilled they are doing so well. I think the cool Spring weather really helped. We haven't had any truly hot days, yet.

Peppylady -- my favourite of nature's perfumes, too.

Heather, I do hope you grow some in containers near your front or back door. Nothing (IMHO) compares to the sight and scent of them and the closer you get to the blossom, the better.

Aiyana, how lovely to have enough for bouquets. At most, I have three flowers for a little bud vase. But you know, it's enough for me.

Sweet peas are my--my sister's and my daughter's favorite flower. We all grow them--but my sis is the most consistent with it. She has so many that she gives bouquets away for a couple of months. They bloom here in February and are gone by April.

Hi Tess. I think I was "tweaking" this post when you commented so I'm not quite sure which version you read. But yes, Carole Bamford's words are worth recycling and sharing. Did you notice the location of the garden? England.
