Eight days earlier….

….on June 20th, I planted Jewel Mix and Glorious Gleam Nasturtium seeds (from West Coast Seeds) outdoors in individual pots on my south-facing balcony. This time, I did not disturb them although I did peer very closely at the soil surface at least 4 times every day, searching for the first signs of tiny green shoots.
(This late entry is just for the record.)

You are too funny! I really thought I was the only one that did that. -
We went to T’s home town in Iowa last October. There was a HUGE catalpa tree in the back yard of the house he lived in as a kid. There were looooong bean pods from it, laying all over the ground. I threw them in the car and brought them home - but didn’t run across them until about two weeks ago. Now I have them under plastic outside and I bet I look at them more than a dozen times a day. AND I’ll probably drown them. BUT, they have their second set of little bitty leaves.
Hi, Jackie.
I’m so glad you understand me. Those nasturtiums really are like my little babies.
I’m not familiar with the catalpa tree. I’m going to look up information about it.
I haven’t been to your garden for a few days so want to stop by and enjoy your plants and writing. Will do so this evening after I finish all my chores…and check on the seedlings one more time.
At last check, 10 of them were up.
